Hi! We’re Sara and Ryan from One Foot Off the Grid!
In 2012, we purchased a 5 acre piece of raw land in the Hood Canal (in Washington State). All that lived on the land was a crummy 5th wheel trailer and a deck coming off of the trailer.
We weren’t sure what we would ever do with this land, but we were EXCITED to have. piece of land that we could come up to, camp on, and create family memories.
Over time, we made upgrades to our land (as we could afford them). Here’s a list of the upgrades we made.
- We removed the 5th wheel on our land (because it had black mold and a major rodent problem
- We put in electrical.
- We had a septic tank installed and the drain fields
- We had a well drilled
- Ryan wired the pump and pressure tank
- We purchased a “new to us” camper trailer.
- We built a shed.
- We built a yurt.
- And NOW, we’re building a log cabin kit home.
