From picking up our yurt in Oregon, driving up to our property in Washington, and then framing in the walls – follow along with us as we do something neither of us has ever done – Build a YURT!! In this episode, our yurt will finally start to take shape. You will see us picking up our yurt from Pacific Yurts, and then we drive it up to our property in Washington – all on a 12 ft. trailer. Then we set up the lattice walls and door of our yurt. We’re so excited for you to follow along with us on this chapter of our life. We are your average suburban family, but for the past few years we have had our hearts set on building a dream home up on a 5 acre piece of property we’ve owned for 8 years in the Hood Canal. So this year we’ve pulled the trigger and purchased a log cabin kit home that we will be building ourselves. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a delay on our cabin kit being produced and delivered in the time frame we had originally planned. While we could have just waited it out and pushed back starting on the build of our home, we decided to shift gears and change our course for the time being. We purchased a 30 foot yurt, and will be setting it up as additional living space when we begin to build our cabin. Follow along with us as we build our dream in the Hood Canal.
